LFA Walk and Workshop

Location: Alperton, West London

Client: Brent Council

Group 19 were commissioned by Brent Council to develop and deliver a two-hour walk and workshop to highlight opportunities within the public realm, for London Festival Architecture 2024.

Ealing Road and Alperton (ERA) was named as London's newest Creative Enterprise Zone (CEZ), so the aim of the workshop was to identify how ERA CEZ’s identity can be used to improve wayfinding and connectivity within the area, specifically the southern end of Ealing Road where there is a lot of development happening and there is an opportunity to create a better connection to the canal. We worked with Artist Anna Ferrie to provide further in-sight and to facilitate the workshop with attendees.

We produced an A3 worksheet showing a map of the area and three A5 focused maps to aid note taking and sketching whilst on the walk.

The walk ended with a co-design workshop at the Grand Union Community Hub, where attendees were invited to creatively express their thoughts and feelings about Ealing Road and the opportunity sites discussed along the walk.
